Olivia Rodrigo Collaborates with Artist Chloe Wise for Upcoming Album Artwork

Pop star Olivia Rodrigo has announced that the cover artwork for her upcoming album, "you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love," will be created by contemporary artist Chloe Wise — a collaboration that has drawn considerable attention in both the music and art worlds ahead of the record's June 12 release.

Wise, known for her paintings that blend art history, consumer culture, and personal narrative with a wry pop sensibility, is an increasingly sought-after figure for high-profile creative commissions. Her selection by Rodrigo reflects a wider trend of musicians investing seriously in visual art to define the aesthetic identity of their records, rather than relying on conventional photo shoots or digital design.

On the international art awards circuit, South Korean ceramic artist Jongjin Park claimed the 2026 LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize for his work "Strata of Illusion," a sculptural piece that explores the boundary between control and collapse. Park's winning work and those of 30 finalists are on display at the National Gallery Singapore until June 14.

Australia celebrated its First Nations artists with the presentation of the 2026 First Nations Arts and Culture Awards on May 27. Top honors, each worth AUD 60,000, went to Bronwyn Bancroft and Stephen Pigram for artistic excellence, and to Djambawa Marawili AM and Hetti Kemarre Perkins for cultural advocacy and leadership.

Looking ahead, the internationally renowned NOMAD art fair will make its United States debut from June 25 to 28 at The Watermill Center in the Hamptons — bringing its distinctive model of exhibiting art in non-traditional settings to American soil for the first time. Art Basel Paris has also revealed that more than 200 galleries from 41 countries will participate in its October 2026 edition at the Grand Palais.
